Game night (and day!)
Keaton and Mia are once again hosting a game night at the church, Saturday, November 23 from 2-10p. Drop in whenever, stay as long as you can. Bring your own game, or play one of the many games provided. We’ll have food so you can keep on playing! Stay tuned for website with schedule and more info.
Family camp ’25
Roots Church Family Camp ’25 (for the FAMILY of Roots Church) will be Thursday, August 14-Sunday, August 17 at Rasar State Park, outside of Concrete. There are 10 sites available at the group camp we have reserved. To reserve your spot, let Derek know and pay $95 to the church. Each site is set up for either tents or RV/trailers, and can hold up to 8 people. We look forward to a time filled with yard games, disc golf, sitting around the fire, board games, swimming/kayaking at Baker Lake, a no-talent talent show, sharing a meal together on Saturday night, and most of all just getting to know and enjoy one another more.
Sunday school
We are spending the month of November reading through some short biographies of pastors, missionaries, theologians from throughout church history. The Sunday school hour–9-10a–is an opportunity to work through various topics in a informal, engaging way. While it is geared towards adults and older youth, kids are always welcome.
Community Groups
We currently have four community groups, which meet twice a month for fellowship and sermon discussion. Let a pastor or group leader know if you’d like to join one.
North Camano group: meets 2nd/4th Sundays from 130-330. Facilitated by Caleb Boatwright; meets at the Boatwright home.
South Camano group: meets 1st/3rd Mondays @ 630p. Facilitated by Dan McGlinchy; location rotates.
Stanwood/Arlington group: meets 1st/3rd Sundays from 1:30-3:30. Facilitated by Keaton Hansen, at Keaton and Mia’s home.
Seven Lakes/Marysville group: meets 1st/3rd Sundays from 3-5p. Facilitated by Nate Greenland, and meets at the Greenland home.
Men’s Group
Men’s Group meets from 6-730p on 2nd and 4th Wednesdays. Time is spent digging into the Bible together, as well as getting to know each other more deeply and finding ways to challenge and encourage each other in our walks with Christ and the various roles we have in life.
Jam session
Interested in improving your music skills, whether singing or playing an instrument, and getting experience playing with others? Jam session meets every first Thursday of the month at 7p. For more information, see Randy Loveless.
