Roots 101 is a four-week class that serves as an introduction to Roots Church. It answers questions such as “What is the gospel?” “What is a Christian?” “What does Roots Church believe?” and “What does it mean to be a member of Roots Church?” The next series of classes begin Sunday, January 12, immediately after church. Depending on need, childcare may be provided. Please let Derek know if you plan on attending.
Roots Church Family Camp
Dates are set for the third annual Roots Church Family Camp. Join us June 24-28 at Bridgeport State Park on the Columbia River east of Chelan. You will need to reserve a site yourself, and I would recommend doing so ASAP as there are less available than usual. We already have sites 12, 14, 16, to give you an idea of where we’ll be. More details to come.
Christ-Centered Parenting class
For six weeks in January and February, we will take a break from our men’s and women’s studies to do a parenting class together. Christ-Centered Parenting is a 6-week class with video teaching, discussion questions, and take-home materials. The series is designed to equip parents of kids of all ages guide their kids through complex issues like human dignity, identity, technology, relationships, and sexuality. Classes will be Wednesday evenings at the church, beginning January 15. Check out a video preview here.
3Strand Youth Camp
The 3Strand Network that we belong to is putting on a youth camp this coming spring for 6th-12th graders. The camp is April 17-19 in Poulsbo and will include fun games, good food, motor bikes, paintball, archery, other activities and of course teaching and worship. The cost has been significantly offset by 3Strand, so students only pay $60 and adult volunteers are free. The price includes lodging, meals and all camp activities. Sign-up to come soon.
