Fall women’s study

The women’s fall study through the book of Exodus meets Thursdays at 6:30. This 10-week study will cover Exodus 1-18 using Jen Wilkin’s study, God of Deliverance. Books can be purchased here, or let Anlee know if you need help getting one.

Men’s Group

Men’s Group starts back up Wednesday, September 14th from 6:30-8p, and continues on 2nd and 4th Wednesdays.

Time will be spent digging back into 1 Timothy 4, as well as getting to know each other more deeply and finding ways to challenge and encourage each other in our walks with Christ and the various roles we have in life.

4th Sunday potlucks

Our next potluck is Sunday, September 25 immediately after the service. Potlucks are a time for the church to get to know one and enjoy one another over food. Sign up to bring something here.

Fall Sunday school

One of our goals is to equip the church for ministry, maturity and stability. To that end, we are beginning a Sunday School class covering basic Christian beliefs. The class will begin Sunday, September 18, and last from 9-10am. We’ll be using J.I. Packer’s book Concise Theology. You can purchase the book yourself, or use one of the church’s extra copies. Read the first three (very concise) chapters before the first class. There is no childcare, but you are welcome to bring your children.

How to study and teach the Bible course

For those desiring to deepen their ability to study and teach the Bible, we are offering a once a month course covering relevant topics: the nature of Scripture, principles of interpretation, keeping Jesus the center, and more. The class will meet every fourth Wednesday of the month, from 5:30-6:30, with a bit of homework in between classes. Let Derek know if you are interested. First class is September 28.

Community Groups

We currently have two community groups up and running. Both groups are currently reading through and discussing the book Gentle and Lowly (books provided at no cost).

Stanwood group: meets twice a month on Tuesdays at 6 pm. Facilitated by Hans, and meets at Shaun and Becky Larsen’s home. They share a meal, then have time of discussion.

Seven Lakes/Marysville group: meets twice a month on Sundays, from 6:30-8. Facilitated by Nate Greenland, and meets at the Greenland home. They share dessert and coffee, then have time of discussion.
